The widget you wanted
is a sentence away.
A desktop app for Windows: tap Ctrl twice and your launcher and widgets appear over whatever you’re doing. Describe the one that’s missing, and it runs on your own data seconds later.

1
Tap Ctrl Ctrl
Your launcher and widgets appear over whatever you’re doing.
-
2
Describe a widget
The Widget Wizard builds the one that’s missing, on your own accounts. Watch it ↓
-
3
Peek with Ctrl Space
Pin what you need, let the rest go. Your screen comes right back.
Describe it. Then use it.
The widget you need doesn’t ship with anything. So say what it should show, and it gets built against your real accounts.
Create widget
It reads your accounts. Notion, Linear, GitHub, Spotify, tado°, Fitbit, n8n, Open-Meteo, or any HTTP API you hold a key for.
The code is yours. Three small files in a folder on your machine, to read, change or delete.
Bring your own AI key. No account, no subscription.
Safe by design.
A model writes code that reads your accounts. So the app decides what that code may touch, not the code.
-
Every widget runs in a sandbox.
Isolated from the app and from other widgets. It asks the host for everything it does.
-
You approve every account.
A widget sees a connection only after you allow it. Writing, like filing an issue, is a separate yes.
-
Your keys never reach a widget.
Tokens and API keys stay in the app, encrypted by Windows. Widgets get answers, not credentials.
-
No account, no telemetry.
Nothing to sign up for, nothing reported home. Updates come signed, from GitHub.
Questions.
What does it cost?
Kavibay is free and open source. The Wizard uses your own AI key, so you pay your provider for what you build. A finished widget is plain code and doesn’t call a model.
Which AI models work?
Anthropic (Claude), OpenAI and Cloudflare Workers AI. Add a key under Settings → AI and choose which models you want to see.
Do I need to write code?
No. You describe the widget and the Wizard writes it. If you want to, every file is there to read and change, and you can write widgets by hand.
Where does my data go?
It stays on your machine. Widgets fetch from the services you connected, through the app. The Wizard sends your prompt and the widget’s files to the AI provider whose key you added. Kavibay has no server of its own.
macOS or Linux?
Not yet. Version 0.1 is for Windows; macOS and Linux follow once they’re as solid.
What’s missing in v0.1?
It’s the first public release, so expect rough edges. Widgets can read from GitHub, Linear, Notion, n8n, Spotify, tado°, Fitbit and Google Calendar, or from a public API that needs no key. Spotify, Fitbit and Google Calendar ask for your own developer app (a Client ID) for now; one-click sign-in isn’t there yet. There’s no widget store yet, and the builds aren’t code-signed, so Windows warns once on first run.
How do I install it?
Download the installer below and run it; it needs no admin rights and updates itself. Windows warns once because the build isn’t code-signed: click More info, then Run anyway.
